The majority of my pendants and earrings are created using a process adapted from an ancient metalworking technique called 'Mokume Gane'. Layers of custom-colored clay are stacked together and distressed with tools that leave imprints in the clay. The stack of clay is then sliced into extremely thin sheets, with each sheet reflecting a unique representation of the imprints. Many designs are complemented with a combination of copper, brass or silver tubing and washers, semi-precious stones or found/old objects such as vintage pocket-watch parts. |
