"Snappy" Jewelry

Mixed Media & Mokume Gane

Pendant & Earrings

While it is possible to spend hours, days or weeks on the design and fabrication of polymer jewelry, quite often the simplest applications lend themselves to truly unique and stunning wearable art. This workshop will focus on just such an application and will combine textured and patterned clay with antiqued snaps to create a one-of-a-kind blend of elegance & whimsy.

The cost is $150 and includes all supplies excluding clay - semi-precious stones, sterling or 14k GF earwires, antiqued snaps, sandpaper and texture sponge.  Please contact me for more information.

Day One: Bead Design

1) Color Stacks - Create a palette of custom mixed & complimentary colors

2) Patterns - Construct three different pattern strips (striped, textured and mokume)

3) Collage - Learn to cut and abut the pattern strips to form a seamless collage

4) Focus on Design - Incorporate the antiqued snaps and cut and shape the focal beads

Day Two: Bead Finishing & Jewelry Fabrication

1) Finishing - Instruction and tips on hand-sanding, buffing and drilling

2)Tool Review – Pliers, cutters, pin vise, hammers, jewelers saw
