Mokume Gane, which loosely translates to "wood-eye-metal", is a Japanese metalworking technique traditionally used to adorn samurai swords. An adaptation of this process can be used to create vibrantly colored and beautifully detailed polymer focal beads and bead sets. This two-day workshop will focus on the process of designing beads as well as a way to add movement and fun to pendants with the addition of pre-formed metal accents. The cost is $150 and includes all supplies with the exception of clay - 23k gold leaf, metal accents, buna cord, 20g wire, semi-precious spacer beads, imprint tools and sandpaper. NOTE: If desired, Day One or Day Two may be taken as stand-alone classes. Please contact me for more information. |
